Kevin Wong General IRT R26/28/29/33/36 Redbird cars were built between the mid 1950s and 1964 by ACF and St. Louis Car and ran on the IRT 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 routes. 1208 cars were buried at sea off Delaware (558 cars), South Carolina (200 cars), Georgia (150 cars), Virginia (50 cars) and New Jersey (250 cars) for artifical diving/fishing and barrier reefs. Some of the R36 cars were originally painted turquoise and ran on the 7 for the 1964 World's Fair. 1/24/2007 12:50:29 AM
